So this review is for the Grill… This was a first time for me since Community Pizza took up residence. The staff is friendly and the interior is such an upgrade if you remember what it was before. The menu doesn’t have a lot of options - maybe a dozen items all told. There’s a word, though, that appears on almost every item - HOMEMADE. The bacon jam absolutely SLAPS and the chicken…I would crawl across hot coals for that chicken sandwich. Don’t get me wrong. The food is amazing. The fries are perfection. The burger is solid. The cheesesteak is everything you want from a cheesesteak. But I would commit almost literal crimes for that chicken sandwich. If you are in Christiansburg and haven’t gone by, do it. And leave the friend who always wants to “split” at home. Don’t give them any of your chicken sandwich. They’re not that good a friend. My husband and I stopped in to the grill for dinner- we thought it would be a quick bite to eat followed by ice cream but it took over 30 minutes for our order of fries and a cold turkey sandwich. However, the food was very good; I'm not sure if they were just short-staffed tonight or if that's the norm. Next time that we're in the mood for a leisurely casual dinner, we will head here. Despite the wait, we also enjoyed that it's essentially a screened porch patio for dining so it was very pleasant because of the nice weather. We grabbed ice cream afterwards and it also took a very long time but it was worth it. Love the visual retro nostalgia of this place! A Great PLace FOR FooD 😋 & Fun SnaCks Like " Water iCE " ( iTaLian ICe ), ice cream and Specialty DrinKs as WeLL.
