After reading all the raving reviews my brother and I went there for lunch. He got the thursday special chicken fried steak and I got the Catfish plate. To be honest the food at Catfish King would have been better and cheaper. First and only visit. Food: 1 Service: 4 Atmosphere: 3

Really good but the pictures don't do it justice cuz first we went pretty late on very cold night so not many people out, and then it smelled and tasted so good that we ate half before remembering to take picture. Sorry about that! But we had fried mushrooms for appetizer, 3 meat bbq and salad. Oh my! Now my only complaint is they only have banana pudding on Saturdays, which is very sad on Friday. First time here, it was a decent place to eat,had the burger with onion rings. Nothing fancy,seems to be a meeting place for the locals. They have signage speaking of how they were Texas monthly top business back in the day, but I think this place needs to do some updates and get more relevant. Best Ever, and we keep coming back.... Florida's Sampler has both catfish and their yummy ribs... you've got to try the fried okra.. and the Texas sweet tea will make it all just right.. Simple restaurant in the business of serving excellent food. We took too long in coming back to this local jewel. The staff is friendly and helpful. Not only is it great food but the portions are huge. Everyone seems to take home a decent snack for later. Barbecue is on point and the catfish is cooked to perfection. Based on a few comments we got on the place we decided to try it out. The portions are generous and the the food overall was good. My husband ordered the Saturday special “Burnt Ends” - the meat was tender! I ordered the BBQ Beef Sandwich and crispy fries. While the meat was tender and generously portioned - I found it a bit bland and frankly the BBQ sauce was watery with very little taste - being in Texas I usually try the BBQ sandwiches and I have had better. But the fries did come out nice and crisp like I like them! We will come back to try the other items on their menu.

Absolutely loved it!! The food was amazing but the service was absolutely beautiful! They treat you like family here. We enjoyed our conversation with the customers dining in and the waitstaff. Tricia and Ashley were so welcoming and went above and beyond to help make our dining experience the best! They all take pride in their food and the beautiful history of the family that started and owns the restaurant. Even Ms. Florida herself came out to greet us. She is such a special lady. Found this hole-in-the-wall place on a trip back home. It had great reviews so we decided to check it out. And I love not eating at chains! The inside was old as expected but the food was good! The bbq sauce is so yummy, as were the fries and fish. The shrimp were… interesting. The choice of breading was very weird. It was soft, thick, and almost like a pastry shell. Wouldn’t order the shrimp again but everything else was great! Would definitely visit again!
