Visited Fibber Magees last night to see the band Blind Owlz, and overall, it was a pleasant experience. The Irish bar had a nice atmosphere, but I found the service to be a bit slow, especially considering how packed the place was. It seemed like they could use more staff on busy nights to keep things running smoothly. Despite this, I enjoyed the music and company. Wow, the Reuben sandwich here is spectacular! Thick slabs of pastrami, melty cheese, just the right amount of everything else, with fresh rye bread that stands up to all that but isn't too thick...it tastes even better than it looks! Crispy fries on the side.. SO good! Service was friendly and fast. Loved the St. Patrick's Day countdown clock on the wall, the casual vibe. In previous visits we've had the Shepherd's Pie, the Cubano sandwich, highly highly recommend both. And if the luck of the Irish is with you when you stop in, there'll be a live band playing! We had a party in the back room. Hanna the server was wonderful!! The food was outstanding. And the brownie for desert is to die for. A must have but plan on sharing... this is the second year we have had a party there and they are all great, Matt the waiter was awesome. Actually a really cool, Irish themed bar in a parade of shops / mall that was probably only let down for us by choosing to go on a Monday. There was a fun quiz going on, but we arrived too late to join. Great selection of beers and superb selection of whisky and whiskey (Scottish & Irish). Certainly worth a visit if you are in the area. Travelled to this pub to watch a Tottenham on a Monday at noon and was surprised to see it full of people for the match. For attendance and each beer purchased we received a raffle ticket for a chance to win a jersey which was a nice touch. The fish and chips were okay; the fish was flavourful but veryyy grease soaked. I ordered a soup as an attempt to avoid fried food. It was supposed to be potato and leek, but unfortunately was inedible as it was full of cream, and the cream was curdled. We visited Fibber Magees Irish Pub a number of times this past week while visiting friends in Tempe. Being from Ireland and living in Alaska now I try to seek out the most authentic Irish pubs every time I travel. Fibber Magees had it all, the perfect pints of Guinness paired well with their traditional Irish breakfast. We enjoyed our last day in Arizona listening to their talented musicians jam out during their Irish session.
