Great location without competition nearby. Mediocre food, friendly but inexperienced staff. Make an appointment if you still really want a seat because they're scarce. Food: 3 Service: 2 Atmosphere: 4

One of my favourite spot steeped in history. Location perfectly accessible from the city of Groningen (f.i.) by scooter, (e)bike, car and bus. Service tends to be rather slow, i.e. before the (friendly) waitresses notice your presence. However that is offset by the lovely and relaxing setting. Patience is a virtue, isn't it? The food served is tasty.

The food is great. Fantastic burger and lovely tender spareribs. Plenty as well, too much to eat and no problem to get a doggy bag. The service could be a little better though, even though the food is worth waiting for, the wait is long (especially on sunny days).
