Totally awesome doesn't even begin to describe how excellent the food and service are there. I walked in and put my order, and within 5 minutes, it was ready to go. It is a venue that I will eat at every time I go to Cortland Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5

I hadnt been out to Dougs since it first opened in Cortland. Although this time it was the middle of winter so there was a lot fewer people there, it was still a great atmosphere and fun dining expierience. The food was great! The only negative I would say is the prices. I know how the economy is but nearly 60 bucks for 2 people to dine on a piece of fish some onion rings and a milkshake is a bit steep i would think, but, definately a nice treat once in a while. Update: we called to appeal, someone said they'll get back to us, but has not heard back yet. We decided to go talk to them in person, so we did when the truck was close to us. They made up for the missing fry and slaw. --- Ordered one dinner and one portion at the to-go truck. What we got were the two portions, with the price of what we ordered. We drove an hour and half back to realize the dinner was missing (see the bigger plate in the photo that's supposed to be the dinner, with no fries nor slaw). We called the location as the truck was closed at that point, they said they'll call back after checking that night. It's been over 5 days and still no words. This used to be the favorite fish place, we even used to put the truck's schedule in our calendar when it's scheduled to be around us. Now we're not sure if we'll go back. I ordered the lunch fish sandwich with fries and a cup of clam chowder and a soda. The fish was fried with fresh oil which you can see by the golden color. The tartar sauce was delicious. The restaurant was clean inside and outdoors. The building gives a seaside atmosphere. My cashier was new and learning the details of exactly how many oz come in with different meals. All of his coworkers were supportive and encouraging. That was great to see. Happy people making quality, authentic food. Delicious all around! I have only been coming here for 30 years so I think it's time for a review! Doug's is the definitive upstate NY fish fry. Delicious food and I cannot overemphasize that they prepare your order when you order it, resulting in fresh, hot food everytime you come! Doug's seafood sourcing methods are well known so I won't dwell on it except to say that it works! Great fish fries and slaw, as the lord intended it. Also, don't sleep on the Tuesday clams!
