2nd time here since we heard they have new owners, it was the same. The menudo had no flavor and and the pork chops had a fishy flavor, the taco de salsa I made was way better. Comida Casera Bien Rica! Authentic homestyle Mexican food. So delicious. The chilaquiles my relative had looked amazing. I had the "Mexicanisimo" plate. Nopales, Eggs & Chorizo, served with refried beans. Very good!! The whole family enjoyed their meals. Service was great as well. Highly recommend! The food was good. Everything had plenty of seasoning and the churros were amazing. Nice atmosphere with the owner on site. I was driving through and I make 3 or 4 yearly trips to this area. This will be my go-to Mexican food restaurant. The tamales and fajitas were especially tasty. Waited for 40 min just to order our food. We noticed a blurb in their menu stating that after 11am, there is an automatic up charge on all their plates. Jokingly, we thought they would wait until after 11 to finally take our order, but that joke became a reality. 11:01am, the waitress finally came and received our order. She was no regular staff member. She was obviously a veteran at the establishment who knew exactly what they were doing. It’s disappointing to have a local spot be ruined by GREEDY business practices. Their GREED left us waiting at a table, wasting our time on subpar food, and bottom feeding service. This place is so good, I am not sure why we don't eat there more.. but the service is great, they have even added live music, which is better to me that just having the TV on, makes you talk to your dinning partner.. The hot suase is just how I like it thick, and the chips are always fresh. We decided on this placed based on the reviews and pictures of the food. Unfortunately, our first visit fell short. Three different people came to our table for three different times which included: taking our order, bringing food, and picking up our plates, so we didn’t know who was our designated server. We had to ask twice for a drink refill and three times for an order we placed in the beginning, to-go after we were done eating. The check never came either and after waiting 20-25mins, we just got up and approached the checkout. Even then, we had to wait a while before someone finally checked us out, but as soon as one of the servers saw us, she finally remembered our to-go order and brought that to us as we paid. Aside from the bad service, that food was okay. My beans and rice were pretty tasty and so was the horchata but that was it. Service Dine in Meal type Lunch Price per person $10–20

Service was polite but gave us the wrong food and did not take off or fix instead said we could ask for the server next time,after that no refills. Queso taste like butter. Fajitas enchiladas and quesadillas taste good.

The food was good and decently priced..but agter going to the bathroom and seeing the hallway and bathroom i was disgusted and sat outside to eat. i'm just trying to figure out why mesquite restaurants have no ambiance, beautiful decorations, or sense of appeal for an uptown Dallas feel. There is money in Mesquite, Sunnyvale, and Forney, yet the restaurants are mediocre. MOST THE PEOPLE IN THESE CITIES TRAVEL TO OTHER AREAS OF DALLAS AND SPEND THEIR MONEY THERE INSTEAD OF THEIR OWN COMMUNITY. THERE are no sexy, hip restaurants in these areas... and the chamber of commerce should be ashamed.. why is there not a Brazialian steakhouses, arabic foods, and Mediterranean food in these areas? This is the absolute WORST breakfast tacos I have ever tried. They’re unseasoned, hard bacon, had bell peppers in them and lacking every bit of flavor! I’m from South Texas and this place would NEVER make it in business down there! This is NOT authentic Mexican food! DO NOT EAT HERE!
