Well… to start I will say the host had a very inviting spirit. Appetizers, Calamari- Very dry! Overcooked and 9/10 was cooked first instead of last! Bruschetta was absolute fail, more like a flatbread pizza. Very thin! With cheese, tomato, onion/ balsamic vinaigrette, drizzled 🤔 First entrée, Stuffed fish with crab- fish cooked 9/10 the filling of the crab in fish ratio was severely off! Couscous, overcooked! Second entrée, Walleye fillets- 4/10 Mash potatoes came out a box not homemade! 4/10 The only thing me and my partner enjoyed was the Maryland Crab-cake 10/10 absolutely amazing! Now to sever rating 1/10 the sever I had wasn’t nice at all! Server also wasn’t personable nor respectful flirting is unacceptable! Especially to someone’s significant other! demeanor and professionalism is one big reason why is will never return! I didn’t want to embarrass the server so I spared her!!! I have worked I. The restaurant business also a chef! To be completely honest needs a whole new kitchen staff! I try many restaurants I give my honest opinion from the Quality of the food, taste, and atmosphere! Sorry will not recommend this establishment maybe in the future things will turn around for the better! The $181 dollars spent was not worth at all!!! First time here and our experience was great. Upon walking in decor is a little dated but it's cozy/comfortable. We ordered the calamari and crab cake as appetizers. They came out on time and were fresh and delicious. Entrees were fantastic as well, filet mignon and herbed chicken, highly recommend if you are not in the mood for a seafood dish for dinner. It felt like a high quality home cooked meal, and it was delicious and well worth the visit from the East Side. Check it out! Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5

It's always a fantastic experience dining at Don's. Everything from the food down to the service and atmosphere is nothing short of superb. We always request to get seated in Abigail's section if possible due to her professional and friendly service. She's exceptionally knowledgeable when it comes to both the food and wine menus and always attentively tends to our table to ensure our drinks are topped off and that there's nothing else that she can get for us, all while maintaining a smile. The food is always delicious and has never once disappointed or failed to meet expectations. Sat at the bar for happy hour recently and had a delightful time thanks to Dawn's warm personality and remarkable bartending. I've started going here instead of other similar local restaurants such as Pier W, etc. due to how consistently Don's hits the mark and delivers on a phenomenal, memorable dining experience. Had dinner here as part of a group of 8 diners. Our waiter was pleasant and attentive, though I do wish that the unused wine glasses that were part of the table settings were removed early on when it was evident that most were having cocktails instead of wine. They were in the way. My husband had a wedge salad and the seafood stew. He enjoyed his wedge, but found the pappardelle in the seafood stew to be clumped together and not looser noodles. He didn't care for that at all. I had a Caesar salad and the steak oscar, ordered rare. My dish arrived closer to medium rare & I was fine with that that night. Three others in our party also ordered steaks and theirs were equally overdone. One was close to sending hers back but decided not to trouble anyone over it. The three star rating was because given the small size of the menu, the quality of care put into the cooking should have been better than it was. My husband and I ate here on a Sunday evening right when they opened at 4 PM. We were coming here to enjoy a nice dinner before going to a show at Playhouse Square. First with the only positive. The cocktails and food were outstanding. Unfortunately, our experience was tainted from the minute we walked in. The hostess was not friendly towards us at all and then came our waitress Peggy. She was very cold towards us also. It felt like they wished we were not there. It is a real shame because unfortunately when you’re going out and spending $200 plus you expect the service to reflect that. I’ve gotten better service with a smile at Chick-fil-A. So unfortunately, I don’t think will ever be back. I know of other restaurants that treat their customers the way they should be treated when you’re going for a fine dining experience.
