Really well-prepared primarily Southern food and friendly service. Consistent experience, occasional live music. My go-to is a Della J’s mixed green salad (tomatoes, cucumbers, apples) with a piece of always-fresh, perfectly cooked-to -order salmon. My husband likes the crab-stuffed salmon. Tables and booths. Each booth has a different photo and bio of a historical figure or celebrity.

OMG!! This was a first/last time BAD dinner choice. The Salmon (Dry, no seasoning) stuffed with lump crab meat, (where was the 🦀 )? The Mac & Cheese was VERY dry, the Greens were bland and the food portions were small. For almost $40. Before Tip (18% plus, listed on the receipt as a scale), they could have at least tossed in a roll/butter. I’ve had better at a Food Truck!! And the decor was, wait… what decor? I should have taken the empty bar/dining room as a sign.🤨

This place is fantastic. My family has been going here ever since their first, smaller location over in Springfield. It’s amazing to see that they’ve grown and the beautiful restaurant they now run.
I went back yesterday for the first time in about a year and the food was even better than I remembered ☺️ I always get either their jumbo wings or the fried catfish. They’re both incredible. As for sides, the mac and cheese is dream worthy, the collards seasoned to perfection, and the mashed sweet potatoes delectable.
The only thing I thought was lacking on this visit was the service at the host stand. They must have been short staffed or something because we waited for almost 10 minutes before someone even greeted us after walking in. And we had a reservation. Same with other customers who walked in. And it wasn’t even busy at that time. One couple actually walked out. We didn’t because we know how good the food is! But it was frustrating.
Once we sat though, the service was fantastic. Our server was Anijah, and she was kind, attentive, friendly, and just generally on top of things! And the food came out at a reasonable pace so everything was fine after we were seated.

The best home cooked soul food we have ever tasted! From the time we walked through the door on a busy Sat evening, our party of 6 was treated like family. We knew we picked the right restaurant to eat at when we were greeted with cheerful conversation by various employees. We really enjoyed learning about the history of this fabulous black owned family business by one of the family members herself. The restaurant was extremely clean (including the bathrooms) and also beautifully decorated. Now for the best part... The food! Every single thing we ordered came out hot, fresh and DELICIOUS! Some of the things we had were the fried mushrooms, potato skins, biscuit basket, steak, crab cake, mac & cheese, greens, grits, and my favorite the fried chicken boneless breasts. Our waitress and food runner were extremely friendly and we felt like we were the only ones in the restaurant by the top notch service we received.(and it was a very busy weekend night). I can't speak highly enough about this restaurant and will recommend it to anyone I know who will be in the area. Unfortunately, we live 2 hours away and were in the area for a weekend vacation but we will be sure to come back to visit and one of the first places we will eat will be Della J's. Thank you for providing such a rare experience these days - excellent food AND excellent service!

Everything we had was fantastic. Wings, coconut shrimp and grits, calamari, ribs, chicken and waffles. It was all prepared really well and really delicious.
