This is one of the top spots on the island in my opinion. Excellent excellent food. Very friendly owners and great staff. They have amazing hot sauce as well that you can buy online and ship to the states. The food was decent ,, but did not have a good experience at all with the host it was an older lady. And im usually not even the one to leave reviews but this actually really upset me and kind of ruined my whole dinner. My boyfriend and I came in and asked for a table and she told us we could sit at the bar and I saw a table next to the bar and asked if we could please sit at the one and she replied to me in a rude tone “do you not think people can make reservations??” I have never been spoken to like that in a restaurant ever. She did let us sit there but just the way she said that to me my boyfriend and I both thought was very rude. Also another lady server we had wasn’t the friendliest but wasn’t rude either. We ended up having a younger man serve us forgot his name but he was nice! Food: 4 Service: 1 Atmosphere: 3

What can I say? This place blew us away. I don’t think any top restaurant we have enjoyed has done better and so many have done worse. The Bear would do well to visit … Hulu caliber experience. This is the best restaurant in Vieques, we tried a few others before because we needed reservations (drop by or call) but oh boy was this worth it. All the food is excellent. Queso fundido was surprisingly good for such a staple. Seafood great. Service is incredibly attentive. Owners are super friendly. If you have one night in Vieques, this is where you should eat. Get a reservation for sure! Wonderful food and service. We started with the queso fundido con chorizo and it was delicious. My mom said the Golden Margarita was the best margarita she ever had. My son ordered the churrasco, I got the catch off the day (tuna), and my mom got the halibut special of the night. All 3 dishes were amazing. Don't miss this place but get a reservation. No. Just no. I have no idea what all these other reviews are talking about. Owner/Hostess?- off-putting at best. Atmosphere felt cheap - an afterthought. The food was uninspired and sad. Nothing remotely close to Mexican. The "queso fundido" tasted like canned tomatoes with undercooked and badly seasoned "house-made chorizo," in cold cheddar cheese. The presentation of our over-cooked red snapper was depressing. We did not stay for dessert, nor will we be back. In short , DON'T WASTE YOUR TIME OR MONEY HERE!
