This is a great place to have lunch. I've had meatball and pastrami sandwiches. Chicken adobo is very good, too.
They have a Filipino menu with rotating specials.

District 56 is beautiful and family oriented. I've been here before for night market, but my first time to eat at the Cafe. They serve basic coffee, sandwiches, and cooked Filipino food. I ordered kare-kare over rice with bagoong on the side. Delicious. Unfortunately, I forgot my water at home. The lady pointed the ref, so I grabbed the soda quick. They won't hold the line for you. Got in line all over again, but the staff are still nice, polite, and tried to accommodate. Just a heads up, get your drinks first before ordering, or bring your own water. Coffee can be ordered at the counter.

With your comment on business insider via Yahoo News that: "I feel like most folks now want to stay home and take advantage of that unemployment and continue to collect without working", I, as someone with 20 years in the industry, wouldn't even consider working for you. Take your head out of your little box and realize parents/partners have been facing homeschooling our children for 18 months, being laid off, or forced out of employment because of this pandemic- not because we want to "continue to collect without working". Not a good look. No wonder you're struggling to find and keep employees.
The food is amazing the customer service is outstanding, I can’t wait for them to be fully open. The food is unique and they have different cultures food is just amazing.
