Mexican cuisine under the direction of the talented chef is wonderful here. You can order nicely cooked shrimp burritos, prawns and nacho chips. It's a must to taste good craft beer, margaritas or draft beer while coming to this bar. According to the guests' opinions, waiters offer good coffee. Food delivery is a big advantage of Burrito Union. The cool staff works hard, stays positive and makes this place great. Nice service is something visitors like here. You are to be pleasantly impressed with democratic prices at this place. The beautiful decor and enjoyable atmosphere let clients feel relaxed here. As for the Google rating, this spot received 4.1.

Good experience overall. There was one guy working the whole front of house. Host bartender wait staff and bussing. That being said service was slow but good. The guy was running his butt off. Food was good and came out at a good temperature. We were given a discount for how busy it was. We ordered two hours in advance for a pickup order. We arrived on time to pick it up. The restaurant was clearly understaffed for lunch hour; with one person handling the entire front of the house. After waiting 20 minutes, I was finally handed our order, which I failed to check. We were missing items. Three stars because the food was good, the atmosphere is cool, and it's a good spot at off-peak hours, but holy heck was the service slow Saturday afternoon. Had to flag someone down to finally take our order, and I'm a typical avoid-all-confrontation Minnesotan who doesn't do that sort of thing. There was also confusion between multiple people manning the host station resulting in groups getting seating before folks that had been waiting a while. Food: 5 Service: 1 Atmosphere: 5

Good experience here, nice selection of local Brews, the nachos was of great portion kids loved it. The burrito was simply delicious and the person served us was so courteous. The food is great and comes out quickly. Cleanliness is okay. Music was loud, hard to talk with other. I don’t like the atmosphere of the place but it is well advertised as such, so that is on me. I had lunch here with a friend after visiting Enger Park. The Philly cheese steak burrito was delicious. The chips and guac need more salt though. Nevertheless, would recommend for the hungry visitor. Food: 5 Service: 4 Atmosphere: 5

I have been enjoying Burrito Union since my time in school at UMD. We were in town for a weekend trip and decided to stop by for old times sake. The atmosphere is local and hip, just as I recalled. We ordered the chips and corn salsa, the chips came warm and fresh. We also got the imperial chicken burrito which was very good. Lastly we had the carnitas quesadilla - this was the best thing by far! The roasted tomatillo salsa has some delicious heat to add even more flavor. I was pleasantly surprised on how terrible the food was here. Based on the ratings I thought we were in for a treat. Little did I know I know I was taking my family to a land of disappointment. I had a burrito covered in red sauce, my children had the kids burrito and nachos meals. I will start by saying I thought it was impossible for Mexican food to be without flavor. Burrito union proved me wrong. The chips we ordered were soggy and stale. The salsa's were lacking in the flavor department as well and everything we ate was cold in the middle or cold on arrival. I should have known this would be the case as I saw every patron heading straight to the bar. However, our waitress was wonderful. I wanted to complain but lacked the energy to do so after a 2 hour drive from the twincities. If Duluth has a Chipotle run for that spot instead. Food is delicious! We had Empire Builder burritos with deep-fried avocado as an appetizer. Beverage also very good...white sangria. Wait staff were very pleasant and service was quick. Nice atmosphere as well.
