So the Wife & I went to Bubba's 33 on Wednesday afternoon around 3p.m., the place wasn't Dead but it wasn't slammed with customers either. We had wanted to split some chicken tenders fries, & onion rings. The waitress seemed nice at first, then after we said we splitting the tenders had an attitude. After the drinks & ordering she never came by to see how we were doing or how the food was. The food items came out 3 different temperatures, fries were stone cold, onion rings luke warm, chicken hot. A manager asked hiw we were doing and I explained what was going on with the food, he made excuses, and still we never saw our waitress again & had to ask 4 waitresses nearby for boxes for the leftovers. Our waitress came by after the boxes were dropped off to see if we needed anything. And my reply yeah 30 minutes ago. It's been bad the last 2 times, which was unusual. But they had no excuse it wasn't slammed. They need to get straight. Because we love to eat there with the whole family. I've posted a review or two on Yelp for this restaurant, but I'm just supporting them here on Google for the same reasons. My favorite dish at Bubba's 33 is the chicken fried chicken. Let me tell you why. The entree itself is generous on the chicken and not the batter, and the batter that is on it stays on the chicken. How many times have you ordered a chicken fried chicken (or chicken fried steak for that matter) and as soon as you cut it, the crust separates from the meat, revealing how little meat the restaurant was willing to sacrifice to give you? Not with Bubba's 33. The crust also stands up very well to their good house gravy, and pairs nicely with their rustic garlic mashed potatoes and an order of tater tots. It might be the best chicken fried chicken dish I've had. The fish and chips and the burgers are also good. I've gotten both at different visitations, and they're satisfying. Quality food, great atmosphere that wasn’t to loud. Large restaurant capable of seating many people so if the parking lot is full don’t let that scare you away. Waitress was top notch and the managers are actively monitoring to make sure all customers are enjoying themselves. This place is a well oiled machine. One little detail I noticed was their grass was the only one out of about 8 restaurants that was alive, I just thought it was a cool detail that someone obviously made the effort to set themselves apart from the other restaurants. Wow! Such good food! The onion rings are amazing( and I'm not an onion rings person) the garlic knots were excellent! The pizza is really good. I definitely prefer it over any other pizza I have had in East Texas. The entire staff is very very friendly. Prices are very reasonable too. Definitely a place to try if you haven't been! I cannot say enough about the service and meal choices Bubba's provides. I will say I usually sit at the bar, and the girls remembered my name almost a week later from my 1st visit. It could be super busy evening or during a slow afternoon, you will ALWAYS get the same attention to detail and kindness. Thank you for the kindness and consistency. Fried pickles had great flavor but a tad over salted. 1/2 burger is HUGE AND AMAZING!! Stomboli was ok, baked well and filling was good but dough is made from wheat alternative or something. The place overall was amazing. I enjoyed looking at all the different decorations around the place. There are even TV's to help pass time or if you just want to watch a game. The wait time wasn't that long at all. The servers are very polite, and the food was spectacular. I've been here many times before but I always try something new. Coming off the interstate for the night two thoughts were on our minds food and sleep.... The hotel we booked ended up being in the middle of the boondocks with some very suspicious looking restaurants nearby..... Worried about where to eat that our stomachs would survive we asked our front desk clerk and as he laughed and said if we had 40 minutes worth driving left in us to head to Longview Texas and we would find a greatly improved food row. And that lead us to.... BUBBA 33!!!!! This place is fantastic! Great menu Great Staff And.... Great FOOD. Our Server (MALEAH) was totally GREAT. She sold us on what we would like (upselling the whole time) Her attitude was by far one of the best we've run into in a long while. While we were enjoying our meal the Manager (Ariel) came by while doing his table greets. He was without a doubt very professional and he took the time to share his knowledge about the restaurant and then he shocked the daylights out of us by telling us we have three Bubba's 33 locations in Florida and one within an hour from our house.... This was my first time here. I decided to sit in the bar area, but honestly, there were enough TVs that I could have sat anywhere. The service was top notch, Mary had the pleasure of taking care of me. I also had the pleasure of talking with Sydney and Hope, who were both fantastic. I started with the Shotgun Shrimp at the suggestion of Mary, and they did not disappoint. They came on a bed of crunchy goodness, and I didn't leave anything left. Next was the "Bacon Grind" Sunshine burger with PepperJack Cheese. The Bacon grind means they put chunks of bacon in the meat mixture. I saw some others complain about the meat being pink, but it makes total sense because it's due to they bacon mixture. I came on Monday, so my burger was only $9.99. I ordered onion rings with my burger and have to say they are possibly the best I've had. Update: Came back next day and same results. The food was still incredible. Today I got the Shotgun Shrimp again and a Meaty Pizza. Mathew did an incredible job and extremely attentive.
