I feel very lucky to live near such a cozy coffee shop! Bloc is unique because it used to be a bank back in the day. You can even sit in a few areas that used to be vault rooms. The coffee is always wonderful and the staff are kind. They also have smoothies and seasonal drinks like cider if you aren’t a coffee lover. Their patio space is by far one of the best in Somerville. Can't speak to the food, but the coffee is very good! I don't come often so I always love to try the rotating seasonal drinks. Bloc puts a lot of care into presentation and the vibe. It's in the basement of an old bank building and they've decorated it very well. There's generally plenty of seating and it's not too loud, so I've used it as a first date spot a couple of times. Its a decent place to get a strong cup of coffee. it is a bit pricey, outside of the coffee, but as a coffee drinker - their coffee is good and strong. If you can make it on a weekday mid day, you can find a space to sit. During the summer, their patio is ideal. All other times the tables fill up quickly, so plan accordingly.
