El lugar es pequeño pero acogedor, la atención del personal y el servicio fueron buenos. Mi platillo en esta ocasión fue un plato de carne asada y mi esposo pidio unos tacos y los dos platos fueron grandes y muy bien servidos. Al llegar te ofrecen salsa y tostadas, la salsa no es muy picante y tiene demasiado tomate pero está bien, es muy parecida a las embotelladas. Queríamos probar la horchata pero en esta ocasión no tuvimos la suerte de que hubiera. Pedí una limonada pero no me gustó mucho el sabor así que pedí mejor un refresco 🥤pero también sabía extraño, me imagino que son los hielos, lo menciono aquí esperando que puedan hacer algo para mejorar la experiencia. It was a small restaurant, but the wait was less than 20 minutes. They were busy, the food was amazing and to be limited in scale it was not loud. There were maybe 15 tables total. 2 large in the center for groups with smaller tables lining the sides. The food was definitely homemade and fresh. Nothing canned, frozen nor store bought. You can definitely tell by the taste and the smell in the air as it is cooked fresh. Armenta’s is for sure San Angelo’s best! It was a favorite of mine when I lived in Texas and I always make sure to visit when I’m in town. The Vuelve a la Vida is a must after a night out and the Monterey Chicken Enchiladas are absolute perfection. Staff are always warm and welcoming and overall it’s a wonderful family restaurant. By far one of the best restaurants in San Angelo. The service here was amazing, very attentive and on-point for Sunday lunch. My wife adored her enchiladas and my Guiso was amazing. We have been looking and looking for great enchiladas around town and this is defiantly the new must go for our friends and family from out of town. The restaurant was very clean and really felt more like a home meal than a restaurant which I loved. They do have kids meals and the grilled cheese my son got was darn good also. This restaurant was recommended by staff at a place we were visiting for the week, so we went after a perusal of google reviews. First, parking is pretty lousy, belying a small restaurant and many patrons. The two of us had about a 5 to 10 minute wait to be seated for lunch as it was quite crowded. Service was good considering the volume of customers, and chips and salsa were served promptly. Regarding the chips and salsa - they were excellent. We each ordered sour cream chicken enchiladas and they arrived relatively promptly - again, considering the fullness of the restaurant. The enchiladas were pretty good, however, the chicken was a bit dry. We received our checks and paid. All in all, a pretty great Mexican restaurant in San Angelo, with very good prices vs portions. This is 100% my absolute favorite Mexican restaurant in town!! I've never eaten anything here that I didn't absolutely love. My husband, dad and I all literally clean our plates. Need I say more? Also, it's extremely reasonable. It's less than 10 bucks for 3 enchiladas, rice and beans. Come on!! PS the sour cream chicken enchiladas are my go to. Great little hole in the wall! We ordered the brisket nachos and parrillada (think fajitas with chicken, beef, shrimp and sausage) and couldn't have been happier. The shrimp and beef were succulent and the chicken had a good texture. The beans that came with the set up were top notch and the tortillas felt and tasted fresh made. The nachos were delicious and the chips held their crunch and didn't become soggy, even with everything that was loaded on them. We also ordered a piece of tres leches cake for dessert with both whipped cream and chocolate. It was moist and rich, and a large piece of cake for the price. We look forward to eating there again and highly recommend them to anyone that hasn't yet given them a go.
