We waited 45 minutes last night while waitress said they were calling in more cooks. Never received food after waiting, so we left, never to return. What a mess they have. I worked here back in the early 2000's. This establishment was the number one in kansas for Applebee's stores. Not sure about it anymore. Short staffed during lunch, the quality in food has died off. It's too bad because I have family history with this location. I would hate to not return someday. Food quality was mediocre, chips were stale and the shirt staff service makes it less to enjoy. We ordered curbside to go, got there and waited for 20 minutes for our food. The guy who answered hung about walked outside and shoved our food through the window. When I arrived, no one acknowledged me-it took them about 5 minutes until someone approached me, & it didn’t seem real busy. When I got seated, I was surprised how dirty the place was-there were SO many dirty tables left around & trash strewn about the floor. And then when I ordered a Cesear salad, I was surprised it was basically just iceberg lettuce, with big chunks of Parmesan & bread crumbs. Not impressed at all. We travel to Kansas City often for my husband's chemo treatments. Paola is a good stop between. We have been to this restaurant several times and it keeps getting worse. Tonight we ordered off the 2 for menu. Didn't get our appetizer then was served mediocre entrees. When the check came my husband paid it and told me we won't be back. We were charged for a ribeye special at $21.99 and a Bourbon street chix at 17.49. A bill over $50 that should have been half that price. Will not be back again.
